This is a full-time independent contractor role. Candidates must be able to commit exclusively to this position and not engage in part-time or freelance work once hired.

Are you a seasoned US tax accountant who thrives on navigating complex tax matters, delivering accurate results, and providing proactive solutions for diverse clients?

If you’re detail oriented, highly accountable, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team, this role is designed for you

• Prepare and review US personal and business tax returns, including those prepared by external contractors
• Address tax notices and provide appropriate resolutions
• Prepare monthly tax estimates
• Occasionally handle payroll for owners (once or twice per year)
• Communicate with clients via email
• Maintain high-quality, accurate work while meeting deadlines
• Collaborate with the team and adapt to evolving client needs
• Handle other assigned tasks as needed to support the team’s workflow

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA is a plus
• Minimum of 3 years of US tax accounting experience (5+ years preferred)
• Strong experience with QuickBooks Online; experience with ProConnect is highly preferred
• Familiarity with Gusto payroll is a plus
• Tech-savvy, adaptable, and able to work independently
• Strong critical thinking and independent decision-making skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Results-driven, with a focus on output rather than hours logged
