About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support and manage the financial activities of multiple startup clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining general ledgers, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting the monthly closing process. Your strong analytical skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will be essential as you provide valuable financial insights to our clients. What you’ll do Assist with preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements Execute reconciliations, processing journal entries, sync approved and reimbursed reports using QBO Generate accurate and comprehensive financial reports for management and stakeholders Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by recording, reconciling, and analyzing transactions Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status Monitor, analyze, and report on key financial metrics, trends, and variances Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts Other Billable-Related Work Perform ad hoc assignments as requested pertaining to client needs Work with respective Controllers in forecasting income and expenses Complete reviews and QA checks for yourself and assist peers Compliance Stay informed and current with bookkeeping, tax filing, HR standards, and other related government regulations Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by maintaining compliance documentation for each client Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas Administrative Submitting, approving, and tracking maintenance projects Others Required training and internal meetings And any other duties and tasks to support business needs as directed by management. Job requirements What You Bring Willingness to work core hours with a 4-hour overlap with Central Standard Time in the U.S. Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. 3+ years of corporate accounting experience. Experience working remotely for a U.S.-based accounting firm. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles. Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, U.S. GAAP, laws, standards, and state/national regulations. Solid experience with QuickBooks Online (certification a plus). Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet software (MS Excel and Google Sheets). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to follow through and execute a high volume of nuanced tasks. Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced setting with a wide variety of tasks. A passion for rapidly changing technology and software solutions that maximize efficiency and deliver firm-wide value. Preferred qualifications Master’s degree in Accounting. Licensed CPA in home country. Experience in accounting within a high-growth, startup, or entrepreneurial environment. Experience in SaaS accounting, startup equity accounting, and/or startup revenue accounting. Experience with tech-forward accounting platforms such as Expensify, Bill.com, Stripe, and Gusto. Familiarity with newer systems/platforms such as Slack, Salesforce, 1Password, Airtable, Box, Kantata, and Loom.
