The Senior Construction Project Manager based out of Manila is a newly created role with a secure pipeline of work as we “Build Bolder” across emerging markets in APAC. Our Global Design and Construction team (over 200 people) delivers over 70 projects globally per year, and we are in an exciting period of growth across the region including movement into new and emerging markets. Responsibilities include directing day-to-day activities and operations of a team of local Construction/Operations Project Managers, making strong tactical decisions to resolve project issues, managing project costs, methods, and project team selection to meet schedules and goals in a multi-faceted environment.

Responsible for all aspects of data center construction for respective projects from inception through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand-over of an operating facility. Projects may include ground-up construction, fit-outs, remodels, etc. The Project Manager will oversee multiple projects of various size and scope, across brownfield and greenfield sites as well as major remediation works. They will direct all internal and external partners, including Design, Procurement, Operations, Security and IT/Network, as well as contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, and equipment suppliers.

You will drive a safe, quality-first culture, ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best construction practices, and manage variations between local and Equinix expectations. You will ensure internal controls are adhered to at each step through contract administration including generation, review, management, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents.

Candidates with strong local construction experience, particularly with a major international company or established regional firm, will be highly regarded.

• Management: Provides guidance to Construction/Operations Project Managers who are driving day-to-day delivery of construction/operations projects; sets goals for immediate team members.
• Project Management: Manages multiple smaller projects or a single larger project; leads by example on safety, standards, and culture; monitors progress, quality, and regulatory compliance; ensures projects meet or exceed company expectations; manages risk registers; leads development of new data center projects from concept to business approval.
• Vendor Relations: Directs external vendors per project (general contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc.); helps establish and maintain high-value relationships.
• Training Programs: Supports identifying and developing training programs and cross-functional training.
• Contract Administration: Manages contracts including generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and related documents; liaises with local authorities and state agencies.
• Leadership: Directs internal and external project teams across Design, Procurement, Operations, Commercial and IT/Network support; mentors junior team members; develops and maintains policy and procedure standards; oversees project closure, handover and lessons learned processes.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, construction project management, or related field
• End-to-end construction project management experience for data center, pharmaceutical, bio-tech, or similar environments
• Customer-focused, self-motivated, adaptable; able to take initiative and complete required trainings
• In-depth knowledge of applicable statutory regulations and industry best practices locally; ability to adhere to wider company, regional or global standards
• Experience in construction procurement methodologies
• Preferred: proficiency with Microsoft Project; experience developing new data center projects; experience leading an internal cross-functional team
