Senior Application Programmer (GIS) ERNI Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines ERNI is a fast-growing Software Development company owned by Swiss-based ERNI AG, founded in 1994. We are expanding in Asia and are looking for a highly motivated Senior GIS Application Programmer to support our GIS Operations Team. About The Role The GIS Application Programmer will support the GIS Operations Team and other client departments in scoping, designing, programming and deploying Web‑GIS applications for staff and DMCs that build on and integrate seamlessly with the client’s Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) / Enterprise GIS. Scope Of Work / Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Senior GIS Specialist, liaise with departments and staff to identify their needs for customized Web‑GIS applications. Familiarize with the client’s Spatial Data Infrastructure and map‑enabled business apps (e.g., CDIH, CCDRMS, MATALAS, etc.). In collaboration with the GIS Server Manager and Administrator, identify technical and security requirements for developing Web‑GIS applications or plugins. Support consultant teams hired by individual projects to develop client‑standards and security‑conform applications that integrate seamlessly with the SDI / Enterprise GIS. Ensure proper hand‑over / migration of Web‑GIS Apps developed by consultant teams under client departments and projects not under ITD, and co‑maintain the Apps on a regular basis once launched. Program new Web‑GIS applications as per client and DMC user demand, including user review, development of wireframes, work and budget planning for development and maintenance phases, perform UI/UX and security testing, etc. Deploy applications and perform regular maintenance (bug fixing, backup, software/code updates/upgrades). Any other task ITD GIS considers necessary. Work Arrangement Hybrid, requiring employees to report onsite three times a week. Work schedule is from 8:00AM – 5:00PM Manila Time. Qualifications University degree in computer science, IT or related field. At least 10 years’ experience in developing and successfully deploying map‑enabled / WebGIS client applications. Technical skills: HTML & CSS, JavaScript/AngularJS, Leaflet, Python, R, C#, SQL/NonSQL Database, REST API, Web Architecture, NPM, Information Security & Privacy. Working knowledge of the IT environment / technology, and related security regulations and guidelines. Fluent written and spoken English. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
