Job Description: Process Simulation Engineer About Us

Entropic is an Netherlands based company on a mission to realize a carbon-neutral industry. We specialize in optimizing the heat use within factories. Our digital twin tool helps factories reduce their energy use up to 50%. We are looking for innovative engineers who are passionate about sustainability and excel in problem-solving. You'll work alongside the co-founders of Entropic on product development and projects at large industrial sites in the process industry.

Role Overview

As a Thermal Systems Developer, you will build simulation models for process equipment such as dryers, heat exchangers, boilers and heat pumps. You will also work on defining optimization parameters to get the best performance. We are looking for an engineer who has a deep understanding of both the thermodynamic concepts as well as how to optimize designs for these equipments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build physics-based simulation models for process equipment
  • Design and run optimization studies for heat networks (cost, COP, emissions, constraints).
  • Develop optimization algorithms for heat networks
  • Validate models against plant data; create test plans and benchmarks.
  • Ship well-tested Python modules into our digital-twin platform and document them.
  • Collaborate with process engineers and software engineers to turn models into product features.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Experience with thermodynamic modelling and optimization.
  • Background in Chemical/Mechanical/Process engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in process simulation.
