Overview Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented US Tax Accountant with at least 3 years in managing all aspects of U.S. Sales, Use Tax or any other Tax in the US. The ideal candidate will be proficient in tax preparation, filing, reconciliation, and audit support, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with evolving tax regulations. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and file multi-state sales and use tax returns using various online filing systems. Ensure timely tax payments and monthly accrual reports to support general ledger accounting. Reconcile filed tax returns against sales tax payable accounts in the general ledger. Manage and provide tax documentation such as W-9 forms, resale certificates, and exemption forms to vendors and customers. Conduct research on state-specific tax rulings and apply relevant tax laws to current issues. Review and monitor tax rate changes and tax system compliance, report discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions. Support internal departments (sales, collections) with tax-related requests, including exemptions, refunds, and billing adjustments. Validate customer-submitted tax exemption certificates and maintain accurate exemption records. Compile and organize data and documentation for state tax audits and compliance reviews. Maintain and configure tax decision-making software used in system invoicing and automation. Qualifications With hands-on experience in maintaining tax systems (ex. SAP, Oracle, Vertex, Avalara). Solid understanding of tax laws, forms, publications, and basic tax planning principles. Skilled in analyzing financial data to identify key tax components and reconcile discrepancies. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for managing tax-related spreadsheets, documentation, and presentations. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good communication and collaboration skills.
