The General Accounting role is responsible for overseeing and executing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, compliance with government regulations, and support in generating reliable financial reports. The role plays a key part in maintaining the company’s financial integrity, particularly in a design-focused, product-based environment like Stileitalia Inc.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
  • Handle month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor daily cash balances.
  • Monitor fixed assets and prepare related depreciation schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of government-mandated tax reports (e.g., VAT, EWT, 1701Q, 1601E, 2316).
  • Review and verify supporting documentation for accounts payable and receivable.
  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams for proper costing and expense recording.
  • Support audits by providing schedules, ledgers, and documentation for both internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of all accounting-related records and BIR requirements.
  • Participate in the budget preparation process and variance analysis.
  • Recommend improvements in accounting processes and internal controls.
Experience
  • 2–5 years of solid experience in general accounting, preferably in retail, furniture, construction, or manufacturing sectors
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar financial accounting role, preferably in the consumer goods or retail industry
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, standards, and regulations
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software, spreadsheets, and other financial reporting tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
Certifications
  • CPA is an advantage but not required
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and Philippine taxation
  • Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong reconciliation and reporting skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Good communication and coordination skills
