Overview Data Engineer role at Standard Chartered. The MLOps Engineer will be responsible for deploying data scientist’s models and making them accessible to software that utilizes them. Responsibilities include deploying, managing, and optimizing machine learning models in production environments, ensuring smooth integration and efficient operations. Responsibilities Business Proficiency in data modelling and ETL processes Basic understanding of business domain use cases Processes Check deployment pipelines for machine learning models Review code changes and pull requests from the data science team Trigger CI/CD pipelines after code approvals Monitor pipelines and ensure tests pass and model artifacts are generated/stored correctly Deploy updated models to production after pipeline completion Work closely with software engineering and DevOps teams to ensure smooth integration Containerize models using Docker and deploy on cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) Set up monitoring tools to track metrics such as response time, error rates, and resource utilization Establish alerts and notifications to quickly detect anomalies Analyze monitoring data, log files, and system metrics Collaborate with the data science team to develop updated pipelines to cover faults Document changes and optimizations People & Talent Qualifications Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Experience : 4+ years as a Data Engineer or similar role Hands-on experience with data pipelines and workflow tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Luigi) Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Familiarity with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake) Technical Skills Strong programming skills in Python Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and database design Experience with version control systems (Git) Understanding of data security and privacy principles Soft Skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work Regulatory & Business Conduct Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct Take personal responsibility for embedding high standards of ethics, including regulatory compliance Effectively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters Key Stakeholders AI Solution teams Our Ideal Candidate Education: BE Role Specific Technical Competencies SQL, Python Basic statistics Cloud Platforms (AWS and Azure) Data Modeling Project management skills Agile methodologies, SCRUM What We Offer In line with our Fair Pay Charter, we offer a competitive salary and benefits to support wellbeing.
