Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their IT Data and Analytics department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in defining enterprise data and data architecture, producing data models, and transforming data to support analytics and reporting needs across all applications.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Data Engineer, your primary role will be to design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data solutions. You will be instrumental in building scalable, efficient, reliable, and reusable data pipelines and analytic applications.

  • Design, develop, and implement data solutions including data ingestion pipelines to acquire data from various source systems.
  • Design and define data models, schemas, and structures to support analytical and reporting needs.
  • Configure and manage data storage solutions.
  • Design, upgrade, and implement new data workflows, automation tools, and API integrations.
  • Perform unit and integration testing.
  • Provide support in UAT, user training, pre-implementation and post-implementation support activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support their data needs.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and analytics applications.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Data Engineer position brings a strong understanding of data architecture principles along with experience in designing scalable and efficient data pipelines. You are known for your problem-solving capabilities coupled with excellent communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of data architecture principles.
  • Experience in designing scalable and efficient data pipelines.
  • Problem-solving capabilities.
  • Agile in adapting to change.
  • High level of precision in coding.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer.
  • At least 2 years experience in Databricks and Microsoft Azure Data Platform.
  • Experience in SQL, Python, Shell, Scala.
