Student Researcher (Seed - LLM - Model) - 2026 Start (PhD) Location: San Jose Team: Technology Employment Type: Intern Job Code: A45914 Responsibilities Participate in the research and development of cutting‑edge algorithms with the possibility of publishing top international papers, and applying for patents. Conduct in‑depth research for cutting‑edge technologies in large language models/MultiModal Machine Learning and apply them to solve practical problems in industry. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Currently pursuing a PhD in artificial intelligence, computer science, automation, mathematics, or a related technical discipline. Solid foundation in data structures and algorithm design, proficient in Python/C++, deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, and distributed large language model training frameworks such as Megatron/FSDP/Deepspeed. Strong proficiency in mathematics and good reading and writing skills. Strong sense of responsibility, proactive, with good communication and teamwork skills. Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire. Must commit to a 12‑week full‑time work period during Summer or Fall 2026. Preferred Qualifications Experience with pre‑trained technologies (efficient training, deployment services, NLP, CV, video, MultiModal Machine Learning, etc.) and downstream applications. Published papers in top academic conferences or results in competitions in MultiModal Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or Machine Learning. Job Information The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $85 – $85. Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day‑one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
