Postdoc in Bioinformatics at the LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center, Department of Immunology and Microbiology, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. A 2-year position, to commence February 2026. We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in bioinformatics to lead spatial transcriptomics analyses across diverse projects. Embedded in the Immunological Bioinformatics Group, this role offers opportunities for methodological innovation and scientific leadership.

Responsibilities- Lead spatial transcriptomics analyses across diverse projects within the LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center.
- Perform hands-on data analysis and develop tailored workflows or algorithms to address biological and technical challenges in spatial omics.
- Collaborate with experimental research groups to shape scientific questions and extract meaningful insights from spatial datasets.
- Contribute to methodological development and scientific leadership in the group.

Essential Experience And Skills- PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field
- Solid experience in analyzing single-cell omics data
- Strong interest in spatial transcriptomics and immune-related biology
- Clean, reproducible code and experience working with large-scale biological datasets
- Comfortable engaging with experimental collaborators and contributing to joint scientific planning
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-based, interdisciplinary setting
- Fluent in English, written and spoken
- Experience with spatial transcriptomics data (e.g., 10x Visium, Xenium, CosMx, or similar platforms)
- Publication track record in bioinformatics or immunology (first-author or co-author papers)
- Familiarity with computational methods for spatial statistics, image analysis, or cell–cell interaction inference
- Experience contributing to software packages, pipelines, or reproducible workflow frameworks
- An interest in academic career development and research leadership
The place of employment is at the LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center, Department of Immunology and Microbiology, University of Copenhagen. We offer a creative and stimulating working environment in an international research setting.
Terms of employmentThe average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week. The position is a fixed-term position limited to 2 years, with a possibility for extension. Starting date: February 1 or after agreement. Salary and conditions follow the Danish agreements; current monthly salary starts at 35,715.67 DKK (approx. 4,786.82 EUR) (April 2025 level), with potential supplements. Employer contributions include an 18.07% pension.
Tax reductions may apply for foreign and Danish applicants who hold a PhD and have not lived in Denmark in the last 10 years. The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2025.
