Standard Chartered Modelling and Analytics Centre Pvt Ltd (SCMAC) is a 100% Standard Chartered Group owned entity that caters to the analytics needs of the Group. SCMAC provides analytics solutions and data insights to Standard Chartered’s businesses worldwide, focuses on developing new analytics capabilities, research, and follows emerging trends in the analytics industry.

Business units and capabilities

SCMAC comprises six business units offering diverse professional experiences for Campus recruits. We engage with multiple countries across consumer and corporate banking products and the customer lifecycle from originations to impairment. Tools used include Tableau for visualization, MicroStrategy and Mosaic for diagnostics, and SAS, Knowledge Studio, and Dataiku for predictive analytics.

  • Business Analytics CoE
    • Machine Learning model development for sourcing and targeting
    • Micro segmentation
    • Strategic analysis and insights
    • Brand impact assessment, Marketing Mix models
    • Campaign management / Campaign Optimization & Measurement
  • Retail Risk Analytics
    • Application of AI and ML in improving CPBB Risk Models
    • Risk Models for bank’s Fintech subsidiaries and Digital Joint Ventures
    • Application Fraud Risk modelling
    • IFRS9, Stress Testing and Climate Risk Models
    • Regulatory Capital Models (PD, LGD and EAD)
    • Underwriting, portfolio management and collections models
  • CCIB Modelling
    • Development of Risk and Regulatory models for the Corporate, Institutional and Sovereign lending books globally
    • Monitoring the model health over time
    • Developing the models for Corporate Treasury
    • IFRS9, Stress Testing, Basel and Liquidity Risk
  • Credit Risk Management CoE
    • Core credit risk management activities for CPBB portfolios: Origination and Portfolio management strategies, associated credit policies and parameters setting
    • Monitoring of decision and policy performance; monitoring of channel and portfolio performance; diagnostics
    • Review and effective challenge of forecasts, impairment proposals, decision framework update proposals and related models
    • Purpose-based portfolio deep dives and aid in setting performance benchmarks, triggers and continuous monitoring towards risk-return optimization
    • Group driven CRM agenda such as Risk Appetite, Credit Testing, and thematic frameworks
  • CPBB Policy & Governance
    • Model monitoring framework and governance
    • Model monitoring for IRB and IFRS9 models, diagnostics, remediation, maintenance of PMA’s
    • Automation and ongoing enhancements to monitoring process
  • Model lifecycle delivery and assurance
    • Support model delivery project management across various parts of the development process
    • Support IRB model implementation
    • Coordinate with MRPG for model standards, approvals and BAU work

Eligibility
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Math, Stat, Eco, Engineering, MBA)
  • General familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is preferred
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Open source such as Python, R, C; or Proprietary such as SAS, SQL) is preferred
