Pricing Officer

Overview

A Pricing Officer develops and maintains pricing models, analyzes market trends and competitor pricing, and collaborates with other departments (like sales, finance, and marketing) to set optimal prices and strategies that ensure profitability and market competitiveness. Key responsibilities include conducting data analysis, preparing reports, assisting with budget proposals, managing pricing exceptions, and implementing price changes across various systems and platforms.

• Graduate of Business or Commercial Data Science related courses (Economics, Mathematics, Accounting)
• At least five (5) years relevant experience in business intelligence or financial reporting (pricing, commercial finance, data handling & analysis). Worked in a position exposed in knowledge of market trends & commercial aspects of the business.

5. Sales & Gross Margin Analysis
6. Sales Monthly Trend

1. Generation of special purpose reports such as:
2. TM Concrete Sales, Volume & Margin Report
3. TM Industry Sales & Margin Report
4. Cross-Selling Report
5. Key Project Management Reports

1. Generation of special or adhoc reports or data requests from Sales Group Heads, TM, Finance and GM for monthly business reviews, regional reporting, customer reviews, and project progress reporting.

1. Drive data collation and synthesis of budgeting, forecasting and forward-looking revenue & margin projections such as:
2. Sales Bridge (Weekly & Monthly Sales Plan, Actuals & Forecast)
3. 12 Month - Rolling Forecast
4. Annual Sales Budgeting Files
5. Seasonal Sales Projections Exercise
6. Special Purpose Projections (e.g. for RPA input)

1. Analytical calculations for deriving conclusions on trends and behavior of revenue and margin in relation to customer, product, volume, segments and other data slices.

1. Regularly coordinates with different sales & marketing groups for insights on relevant reports and for guidance on budgeting, forecasting and analysis templates.

1. To facilitate the annual pricing review exercise (SMP/SRP Review) by:
   1. Collate relevant financial data for historical references such as average prices, discounts, costs, margins, and volume.
   2. Gather inputs from sales and marketing group on target price, competitor’s prices, volume projections, and data outliers (e.g. product promotions).
   3. Gather inputs from costing and inventory officer for product costing, inventory information, product lifecycle, SLOB considerations, and critical costing assumptions.
   4. Provide a working template to synthesize all relevant references, inputs and calculations to aid pricing decision-making.
2. To manage end-to-end pricing requests (SMP/SRP requests) in terms of accuracy, timeliness and completeness, following required inputs from relevant departments or personnel.
3. To generate, control and monitor pricing reports such as price effect reports, pricing initiatives progress reports, price waterfall analysis and other pricing analytics.
4. To maintain and keep updated all types of pricing records in different systems such as but not limited to Microsoft AX (including Trade Agreements), Salesforce Pricebook, Pricelists (Broadcasted Internal & External).
5. To maintain and keep updated database of competitors' equivalent products and prices periodically for providing supporting assumptions on price positioning.
6. To provide insights and feedback to pricing committee regarding pricing suggestions, issues, improvements and competitiveness.
