Our client is seeking a Real Estate Tax Consultant to manage an assigned book of business, encompassing multiple clients and real estate parcels nationwide. The role’s main objectives are client communication and retention, as well as property tax assessment reductions. You will be responsible for gathering and reviewing annual assessments, filing and completing property tax appeals, collecting and reviewing annual tax bills, and reviewing reports. You will be responsible for meeting all appeal deadlines and internal protocols and for direct communication with their clients.

WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Daylight Time (9:00 PM – 6:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

Essential Functions
  • Research and review local and state guidelines as applicable to property tax assessments, appeals, or taxation
  • Use Marshall & Swift Cost Estimator and CoStar as part of the assessment review
  • Read and derive information from financial statements, including but not limited to income and operating statements, occupancy, and/or rent roll listings
  • Prepare appeal forms and packets
  • Present via phone, Zoom/Teams, or in person for appeal negotiations and informal/formal hearings
  • Perform internal and external communication via phone or email with clients, taxing jurisdictions, and management
  • Participate as needed in special department projects
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a business-related course
  • Experience in property tax or valuation of some kind (for example, experience in acquisitions, mergers, property management, property appraisal, business finance, or business-related tax)
  • Experience with the Marshall & Swift Cost Estimator and CoStar Lease and Sales Comparable applications is ideal
  • Knowledge and coursework in real estate valuation and appraisal is preferred
  • Ability to deliver presentations professionally
  • Confident and persuasive public speaking skills
  • Experience in a multi-client environment
  • Strong computer aptitude, including expertise with Microsoft 365 and Adobe applications
  • Strong organization, time management, oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical and critical skills with particular attention to detail
  • Aptitude in data management, analytics, and reporting preparation
  • Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
