About this role

As Controller at Pareto, you’ll be the financial backbone of our fast-growing organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, you’ll own the integrity of our financials, lead the month-end close process, and develop robust systems to ensure scalability and compliance. You’ll work cross-functionally to support strategic decision-making and be a critical player in helping us reach the next phase of growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, payroll, revenue recognition, and financial reporting

  • Own and optimize the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting

  • Prepare internal and external financial statements following GAAP

  • Develop internal controls and improve accounting policies and procedures

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in collaboration with the FP&A team

  • Manage annual audits and relationships with external auditors and tax advisors

  • Help implement and maintain financial systems and software

  • Partner with leadership across the company to provide financial insights that inform strategy

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role

  • Deep understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards

  • Experience in high-growth startups or tech companies preferred

  • Proven ability to manage audits and implement accounting systems

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High integrity, judgment, and professionalism
