Accounting Manager

WHO YOU ARE Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Controlling, International, you will oversee international accounting activities and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting under US GAAP and local statutory requirements. You will play a key role in the monthly close process, balance sheet management, audit readiness, and SOX control implementation, while supporting process improvement and system integration initiatives. This position will work in collaboration with the Senior Accountant, acting as a bridge between day‑to‑day accounting operations and strategic financial oversight. RESPONSIBILITIES General Ledger Accounting and Financial Reporting Support during month‑end and quarter‑end close processes for international entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP and SOX controls. Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accruals. Monitor and maintain chart of accounts consistency and proper coding of transactions. Prepare financial statements and variance analyses for management review under US GAAP and Statutory GAAP. Ensure appropriate documentation and substantiation of account balances. Closely monitor the Statutory deadline for all International entities (VAT filing, Financial Statements filing, Income Tax filing) and coordinate with the local service provider. Internal Controls, Compliance, and Audit Support and strengthen internal controls in accordance with SOX requirements. Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and process documentation. Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested information and supporting documents. Ensure proper implementation of accounting standards (US GAAP) and compliance with local regulatory requirements. Process Improvement and Systems Identify improvements in accounting processes, closing timelines, and systems integration (e.g., SAP, Coupa). Support system implementations or enhancements related to accounting and reporting tools. Teamwork and Collaboration Work closely and mentor the Senior Accountant, providing guidance, and training. Support the Director of Accounting and Controlling in special projects, process standardization, and regional initiatives. Collaborate with Treasury, Procurement, AP, and GL Accounting team to streamline workflows and ensure alignment across functions. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a multinational organization. Solid technical understanding of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal control frameworks. Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and proficiency in Excel. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communicator with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across cultures and time zones.
