Summary

The Financial Analyst will support the business unit with various levels of periodic reporting and analysis including, but not limited to, expense analysis, forecasting, variance analysis, invoices submission, monthly close processes, and other ad hoc tasks. The financial analyst will work closely and frequently with partners based both in Manila and in Chicago, to ensure the financial goals of the business unit and of Northern Trust are met.

Major Duties
  • Perform monthly/quarterly reporting processes including forecasting, P&L variance analysis, and preparation of reports and presentations to management focusing on key business factors driving financial performance, as well as supplement reports needed by business partners.
  • Assist in annual planning, including supporting the business unit for the preparation, timeliness and integrity of the annual budget and proactively providing sound recommendations to stakeholders that would impact key business decisions.
  • Assist in the submission of invoices as requested by business partners, processing of cost chargebacks, and assist in the month-end close process including reclassifications and adjustment entries.
  • Develop strong relationships and closely coordinate with partners in Manila and other locations to carry out identified responsibilities.
  • Work with local and onshore managers, as well as team members, to identify process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency and to develop financial/business metrics vital to stakeholders' decision-making.
  • Participate in other special projects and ad hoc requirements.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask across several different projects.
  • Relevant experience in Financial and Accounting processes is preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to present relevant information to the Senior Management group and various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively and build relationships across a matrix structure and with a diverse management team.
  • Proficiency with Office 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft, HFM, TM1/Cognos, and other similar systems used in financial reporting, planning and analysis.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools to interpret data and communicate financial information; Power BI knowledge is a plus.
  • Flexible and a team player.
Experience Required
  • CPA is a plus but not required, with 10+ years of collective experience in general and cost accounting, financial planning and analysis, management reporting, procurement, project management and analysis, and other relevant finance-related areas.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services Industry is a plus.
  • Industry knowledge is beneficial.

5AM - 2PM, Mondays - Fridays
