Signage Technical Designer

The ideal candidate combines AutoCAD/SolidWorks proficiency with an understanding of fabrication processes , ensuring designs are both creative and buildable. This role bridges design and production — interpreting proposals, refining technical details, and coordinating closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver high‑quality signage solutions. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technical Design – Signage, the Signage Technical Designer develops and prepares detailed technical drawings that guide the fabrication and installation of signage products — from program‑based rollouts to fully custom signage opportunity. You will transform design intent into manufacturable, cost‑effective, and safe products while ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to customer and engineering standards. What You’ll Do Technical Design & Documentation Produce detailed technical drawings and component files using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Prepare CNC‑ready manufacturing documents for fabrication and assembly Ensure all designs are accurate, compliant, and easy to interpret for production and installation teams Generate all required technical data to manufacture without further clarification Collaboration & Engineering Support Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and estimation teams to validate drawings and optimize production methods Problem‑solve fabrication or installation challenges with suppliers and subcontractors Recommend and help implement improvements to materials, structures, or processes that enhance safety and efficiency Process Optimization Continuously evaluate and question existing manufacturing methods for efficiency and innovation Identify opportunities to improve product quality, cost‑effectiveness, and competitiveness Maintain an understanding of current technologies and production capabilities Autonomy & Accountability Manage assigned projects independently while maintaining high quality standards Deliver work on time, aligned with project schedules and fabrication timelines Support standardization and documentation of best practices across the design team What You Bring Required Proficiency with design software, including AutoCAD & SolidWorks (CorelDraw considered an asset) 2–5 years of experience in technical design, preferably in signage or related manufacturing industries Competence with Microsoft Office, and especially Excel Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Preferred Experience in signage design or visual communication systems Knowledge of manufacturing materials, processes, and shop practices Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards and safety requirements Post‑secondary education in Design, Drafting, or Engineering Technology What We Offer Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package Growth opportunities within a North American leader in branded environments A culture of innovation, craftsmanship, and collaboration Join Us If you’re passionate about transforming design ideas into functional, high‑impact signage — and want to grow with a company that values expertise, creativity, and precision — we’d love to hear from you.
