Finance Director

Job Summary The Finance Director will lead the general accounting functions for the parent holding company while providing critical support to subsidiaries in real estate, property management, hospitality, and manufacturing. Key responsibilities include preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses; delivering insightful financial reporting; and collaborating with the CFO on strategic financial decisions. This role demands a proactive leader who thrives in a multi-industry environment, ensuring fiscal integrity and driving operational efficiency in compliance with Philippine regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Oversee Accounting Operations: Supervise day-to-day accounting activities for the parent company and subsidiaries, ensuring seamless integration across real estate, hospitality, property management, and manufacturing portfolios. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and submit monthly financial reports (separate and consolidated), including detailed variance analyses, forecasts, budgets, and cost-benefit evaluations to support informed decision-making. Regulatory Compliance: Handle preparation and filing of statutory reports, including SEC filings, BIR returns, and other requirements from agencies such as BOC, BOI, PSA, DOLE, and PSE, with a focus on industry-specific nuances (e.g., property valuations and hospitality revenue recognition). Strategic Support: Develop materials for Audit Committee and Board presentations; lead reconciliation of executive committee assessments and preparation of protest letters as needed. Tax and Investment Advisory: Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to optimize tax strategies for the group; provide recommendations on investment decisions, including real estate appraisals and actuarial valuations in hospitality and manufacturing assets. Transaction Approvals: Review and approve cash receipts, accounts payable/disbursement vouchers, payment requests, and journal entries; authorize electronic tax filings, government remittances, and check signings within Board-approved limits. CFO Collaboration: Attend to ad-hoc requirements of the Group CFO, including strategic planning for tax efficiency and financial positioning across diverse business units. Team Development: Mentor and train the Assistant Manager - Finance & Accounting, Finance & Accounting Supervisor, and team members through coaching, performance reviews, and professional development initiatives. Special Projects: Undertake additional duties as assigned, such as supporting mergers, acquisitions, or sector-specific financial modeling. Qualifications and Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred. Experience Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within a holding company or multi-subsidiary environment. Experience in at least two of the following sectors is a plus: real-estate development, hospitality operations, property management, manufacturing. Proven track record in Philippine regulatory compliance (e.g., PFRS/IFRS, BIR/SEC reporting) and industry exposure to real estate, hospitality, or manufacturing preferred. Demonstrated experience managing consolidations across multiple subsidiaries with different business models. Skills and Competencies Strong analytical skills with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis using tools like Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar), and financial modeling software. In-depth knowledge of Philippine tax laws, VAT/GST implications, and statutory reporting for diverse sectors. Excellent leadership and communication abilities, with a collaborative mindset to foster team growth and cross-functional partnerships.
