Job description:

Key Responsibilities

1. Network infrastructure configuration, support and management including availability, connectivity, performance, security and protection
2. Troubleshoot network issues and ensure rapid resolution
3. Work closely with members of the applications and systems teams
4. Provide support to the IT service desk and desktop support teams
5. Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation
6. Coordinate vendor escalations and support for critical issues, acting as a bridge between the vendors' engineering resources and Client's internal staff
7. Assist in the development of standard operating procedures for network operations processes
8. Assist in the management of all network infrastructure assets
9. Assist in efforts to prepare for and participate in audits regarding the network infrastructure
10. Work on IT projects as assigned

Core Technical Skills Required:

1. Network troubleshooting, design, planning and implementation.
2. Experience with network tools (sniffer, syslog, NetFlow, TCPDUMP, Wireshark etc.).
3. Automation and scripting experience with Bash, Perl or Python a plus.
4. IP-based video and voice unified communication systems (both H.323 and SIP); Avaya and Polycom a plus.
5. Experience with Linux system administration a plus

Hardware:

Cisco routing/switching/firewalls (all models), Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba WiFi, Riverbed, AvayaVoIP, F5 LTM/GTM/APM, Bluecoat proxies

Routing & Switching:

BGP, MPLS, OSPF, VPC, 802.1Q trunking, etherchannel, spanning tree, VTP

Qualification:

1. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
2. Must be a collaborative team player.
3. 2-4 years of proven track record and experience
4. Financial industry experience preferred.
5. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills.
6. Excellent work ethic and work product.
7. Participate in the network team's on-call rotation.
8. Will be required at times to work outside usual hours of business in order to limit user-impact during emergencies, maintenance and upgrades.
