Overview

Senior Accountant - Hybrid

Qashier is a venture-backed startup transforming how retail and F&B operations manage payments, loyalty programs, and business data. This role supports growth by managing daily accounting operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering financial insights through accurate reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run day-to-day accounting operations, including high-volume payables, receivables, and reconciliation across multiple bank and payment gateway accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries for digital transactions, merchant payouts, and fee recognition with proper supporting documentation.
  • Track inventory movements of hardware devices, reconcile with sales invoices, and record cost of goods sold accurately.
  • Perform aging analysis on accounts receivable and accounts payable on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare schedules for revenue recognition, deferred income, COGS, and accruals.
  • Review payment requests and settlement files to ensure compliance with approval policies and internal controls.
  • Monitor payout delays, settlement discrepancies, or chargeback issues and coordinate with Operations/Tech teams to resolve promptly.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulators to ensure statutory compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Maintain and update process documentation covering transaction flows, controls, and reconciliation procedures.
  • Assist on projects to improve efficiency and automation in accounting.
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and variance analysis across business units.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis as required by the Finance Manager or management.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • At least 4 years of audit or accounting experience, with exposure to fintech, payments, or SaaS preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and taxation.
  • Experience with inter-company transactions and consolidations.
  • Experience with accounting systems and advanced spreadsheet skills; process automation experience is a plus.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Agile, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
