Overview

The Medical City Iloilo is seeking a qualified Human Resource Specialist to play a pivotal role in enhancing the employee experience across all stages. This position ensures employees are engaged, supported, and empowered through strategic HR initiatives that align with the institution’s values and commitment to excellence. This role reports to the Head of Human Capital Management.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute employee engagement programs addressing psychological, emotional, and social needs to foster a culture of inclusion and well-being.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase employee morale and motivation.
  • Monitor and report engagement metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Promote employee satisfaction through surveys, events, and feedback channels that drive engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create initiatives and programs that promote engagement and a positive work environment.
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding HR policies and procedures; ensure employees understand their rights and responsibilities.
  • Adhere to policies and labor laws; conduct investigations and facilitate corrective actions to promote mutual respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee relations concerns, offering timely advice to employees and managers while fostering respectful workplace interactions.
  • Maintain an open-door policy for employees to communicate with management.
  • Recognize and reward employees for exceptional work and contributions.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and industry standards and apply them to ensure compliance and reduce legal risks.
Qualifications

  • Strategic HR capabilities to support departmental goals, including resource management, business acumen, strategic thinking, and performance discipline.
  • Professional disposition and character, including leadership, confidentiality, motivation, interpersonal effectiveness, and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Professional skills: proficiency in technical protocol writing, ethics, and computer applications including MS Office and marketing software.
  • Strong communication and creativity: excellent verbal and written communication with a creative and innovative mindset.

Education and experience: Ideally, a candidate is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Psychology or Developmental Communication, but a graduate of any science course with Community Organizing, TOWS Analysis, Employee and Public Relations may be considered. At least one year of experience is highly recommended; exposure to Public and Employee Relations and other engagement roles is acceptable.
