Director, Product Management (Direct-to-Scheme) Mastercard, Pasig, National Capital Region, Philippines Overview The Director for Direct to Scheme will be responsible for establishing direct connections with payment schemes in the Philippines market in line with the Mastercard Move XBS network strategy and will be part of the global network partnership team that expands and manages the Mastercard cross‑border services (MA XBS) payment network. The Role Oversee and lead Philippines MA XBS direct to scheme expansions as described in the XBS network strategy. Manage existing and future direct to scheme connections. Lead conversations with local central banks & payment regulators to design the solution. Detail inner workings of transactional flow (including payment initiation & messaging, reconciliation, reporting, etc.) and funds flow between Mastercard, Central Bank and Payment Scheme. Own the local scheme rulebooks from MA XBS perspective and associated implications for Mastercard – detail and develop necessary processes to successfully participate in the scheme. Assess the market opportunity and business benefits when enabling and prioritizing a direct connection to scheme. Assess and understand the local requirements to connect to schemes directly – collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to determine feasibility. Scope and drive Mastercard license expansion to support direct to scheme in chosen jurisdictions. Support the regional stakeholders and the Transfer Solutions commercialization team with market insight and developments. Navigate across cultures and geographies and leverage strong relationships with key groups across Mastercard to gain support and buy‑in from regional stakeholders. Proactively share and drive institutionalised knowledge through the use of consistent documentation (e.g., support documents) across all processes to support knowledge management and ensure consistency and repeatability across projects. All About You Preferably with at least 12 years of experience in the payments industry. In‑depth knowledge of payment systems, schemes, and structures. Sound experience working in correspondent banking and/or transaction banking. Demonstrated success in developing and managing direct scheme connections. Experience in international payments, foreign exchange, cash management, settlement and reconciliation processes. Excellent negotiator with great communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships with eloquence and authenticity. Demonstrated experience building organisational relationships, partnering with and influencing executive leadership while commanding the respect of the individual product practitioners across the organisation. Proven ability to evolve in a complex matrix environment. Thrives in an independent, autonomous and fast‑paced environment.
