About the Role Ryoss is seeking a skilled and motivated Rust Developer to join our development team. You will work with international clients and internal teams to design, build, and maintain high-performance applications using the Rust programming language . The role involves developing secure efficient, and scalable software solutions across a range of use cases; from backend systems and APIs to high-throughput and data-intensive applications. You’ll work closely with other developers, technical leads, and project managers to deliver reliable software under real-world conditions. This position suits someone who takes ownership of their work, has strong technical instincts, and enjoys solving hard problems with clean, maintainable code. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain robust, reusable Rust components and services Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture and deliver new features Optimise systems for performance, concurrency, and scalability Write and maintain automated tests including unit, integration, and performance tests Conduct peer reviews and uphold high code quality standards Diagnose and resolve complex issues in both development and production environments Contribute to system design, technical documentation, and process improvement Maintain and extend CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment Stay current with developments in the Rust ecosystem and adjacent technologies Support the continuous improvement of engineering practices and workflows Requirements 3–5 years of professional software development experience , including at least 2 years using Rust in production Deep understanding of ownership, lifetimes, concurrency, async I/O, and memory management Strong grounding in API design, data structures, and performance tuning Experience integrating with PostgreSQL , Redis , or other databases using async libraries (sqlx, tokio-postgres, redis-rs) Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) Competent with Linux environments , including performance profiling and debugging Experience with CI/CD , automated testing, and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry, etc.) Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or DigitalOcean) and basic Infrastructure-as-Code principles Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a focus on reliability and maintainability Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate in remote, distributed teams A disciplined approach to version control, documentation, and code ownership About Ryoss Ryoss provides technical and operational solutions for international clients across multiple industries.
