Overview

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the finance and accounting functions of MCGP Inc. with a focus on ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, cost control, and full integration with project operations. This role provides critical oversight over financial reporting, internal audits, project billing, budget tracking, and coordination with procurement, HR, and executive management.

Key Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager upholds financial discipline, system transparency, and audit readiness across all financial documentation, disbursements, project funding, and tax compliance, serving as a key advisor to the VP/CFO and Executive Office.

  1. A. Financial Oversight and Budget Control
    • Lead the preparation, review, and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Manage project-based cost tracking, real-time budget comparisons, and cash flow forecasting.
    • Review and approve cost allocation entries, journal vouchers, and general ledger accuracy.
    • Coordinate with project managers and cost control officers for budget validation and financial alignment.
  2. B. Billing, Disbursement, and Compliance
    • Oversee billing processes for client certifications, subcontractor payments, and material suppliers.
    • Review disbursement schedules, payroll ledgers, retention releases, and final billing statements.
    • Ensure compliance with BIR, SEC, SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, and local government financial regulations.
    • Ensure proper withholding, remittance, and monthly/quarterly/annual filings are submitted without delay.
  3. C. Internal Audit and Financial Risk Management
    • Enforce internal controls across all financial procedures and documentation flows.
    • Conduct monthly and spot audits on disbursements, purchase orders, project billing, and inventory costing.
    • Identify financial risks, irregularities, or fraud indicators and escalate with proposed action plans.
    • Prepare audit documentation and support external audit teams with accurate and timely submissions.
  4. D. Coordination with Other Departments
    • Collaborate with Procurement for pricing consistency, PO review, and vendor payment terms.
    • Coordinate with HR for payroll controls, loans, final pay, and employee benefits recording.
    • Interface with legal, compliance, and operations teams for contract reviews and regulatory disclosures.
  5. E. Reporting and Executive Communication
    • Provide the VP/CFO and COO with executive dashboards on project financials, aging receivables, and cost trends.
    • Prepare variance analysis and projections for decision-making.
    • Support budget hearings, project openings/closures, and special reporting requirements from top management.
Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • At least 10 years of experience in financial management, with 5 years in a senior finance or audit leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation, labor and statutory financial compliance.
  • Expertise in accounting software, internal controls, and ERP or cloud-based systems.
  • Proven skills in team leadership, analytical reporting, and executive-level communication.
  • Background in construction, real estate, or project-based accounting is a strong advantage.
