Job Summary

The role provides strategic direction and decision-making for the Quality Assurance (QA) department’s operations for plants and toll manufacturing facilities, ensuring the achievement of departmental objectives, regulatory compliance, and adherence to customer and company standards.

This position advises management on both external and internal issues impacting food safety, quality, and business profitability, enabling informed decision-making in areas where quality and food safety are critical.

The role also focuses on maintaining a highly competent, motivated, and well-supported QA team by implementing technical and professional development programs, conducting proficiency testing, and enhancing roles through HR initiatives.

Additionally, the position is responsible for planning, providing input, and reviewing proposals for continuous improvement programs (CIP), as well as overseeing the acquisition of assets, equipment, and capital investments, including the development of inspection plans for products and processes across production, storage, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides strategic direction for the overall Quality Assurance and Control system in processed meats manufacturing, spice production and logistics operations – from raw material testing, in-process verification, inbound and outbound logistics and final product evaluation.
  • Provides strategic direction and plans for the company’s compliance with statutory, regulatory, certification, company, customer and other stakeholder requirements.
  • Leads the organization regarding activities and matters in the Customer Care System to ensure proper handling of feedback and resolution/closure of product complaints and customer satisfaction.
  • Provides strategic direction on design, management system and operation of QA laboratory, including facility design; analytical capability; and manpower skills, training and proficiency testing.
  • Liaison with Government, Stakeholders and other external parties and clients.
  • Manages the department budget on operational expenses (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX).
  • Leads the monitoring of operating costs to ensure that the department is working within the approved budget and delivering quality results.
Qualifications
  • College Graduate in the field of Food Science/Chemistry/Engineering or any related course, preferably licensed in the line of profession.
  • 10 years of total Quality Assurance experience, with a minimum of 5 years as QA Manager in meat processing plant or related industry.
  • Food Safety Certification is required.
  • With extensive knowledge on food safety hazard identification and risk assessment, PRP assessment, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • With advanced understanding of Management Systems such as but not limited to QMS, Food Safety, ISO, HACCP and etc.
  • With knowledge in Laboratory Management system.
  • With experience in supervising/managing chemical and microbiological laboratories.
  • With strong management and stakeholder management skills.
