HR and Admin Specialist @ McKupler Inc. | Technical Recruiting, Account Management OverviewThe Tax and Compliance Officer is a key member of the finance team, responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. This role involves managing all aspects of tax compliance, including preparation and filing of tax returns, tax planning, and staying up-to-date on changes in tax legislation. The Tax and Compliance Officer will also oversee other compliance-related matters as assigned.
Responsibilities- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file all required federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and on time, including but not limited to income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Maintain accurate and organized tax records.
- Monitor and analyze changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
- Implement tax planning strategies to minimize the company\'s tax liability.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors as needed.
- Compliance:
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with relevant laws and regulations beyond tax, as assigned.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in relevant laws and regulations.
- Work with other departments to ensure compliance.
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis as needed.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- A graduate of BS Accountancy, Finance or other related courses
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Solid experience in taxation and compliance with knowledge of handling Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual BIR reporting (e.g. VAT, Income Tax, Expanded Withholding tax, Withholding tax on compensation, Final Tax, etc.)
- Knowledge of tax analysis and research concerning domestic tax legislation, case law, and tax-relevant regulations is an advantage.
- Has minimal working knowledge of income tax reconciliations.
- Knowledge of National Revenue and Local Taxation Codes
- Familiar with the following Philippine Accounting Standards and Accounting policies and procedures
