The Software Engineer (React and Next.JS) is pivotal in driving the development of our customer-facing web applications by ensuring adherence to industry best practices. This role requires a hands-on leader who will perform 100% of the code reviews, ensure optimal application performance, and mentor a focused team. This position also encompasses agile project management responsibilities in coordination with the Director of Software Development. Key Responsibilities Code Quality and Review – Oversee and execute comprehensive code reviews to enforce industry coding standards and best practices. Application Performance Optimization – Ensure that web applications are designed and maintained for optimal performance, scalability, and security. Team Leadership and Mentorship – Guide, mentor, and upskill team members to strengthen technical expertise, particularly in Next.js. Agile Project Management – Lead agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups) in close collaboration with the Director of Software Development. Continuous Improvement and Innovation – Champion the adoption of emerging web technologies and implement process improvements to reduce technical debt. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications in relevant web technologies or agile methodologies are a plus. Demonstrated leadership in managing technical teams and enforcing coding quality through rigorous code reviews. Ability to guide technical teams, mentor junior developers, and enforce high coding standards. In-depth knowledge of Next.js, React, and modern web development practices with a strong focus on performance optimization and security. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical teams and stakeholders. Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively. Deep understanding of Scrum and agile methodologies to drive efficient project management.
