Join to apply for the Remote Electrical Estimator - (Permanent Dayshift, AU hours) role at GetMyCourse . This is a remote dayshift role based in Australia. Work Hours: 9am to 6pm AEDT (40 hrs/week). The position is full‑time with a rate of $11-$12/hr. Role Overview The Electrical Estimator will support the tendering and design functions of a renewable energy solutions company, delivering accurate cost estimates and technical proposals for solar and electrical projects. Responsibilities Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for solar and electrical projects. Analyze tender documents, technical drawings and specifications to determine material, labour and time requirements. Develop comprehensive BOQs and cost summaries for client proposals. Use OpenSolar to design and generate proposal layouts, including energy yield calculations and equipment configurations. Prepare tender documentation and assist in bid submissions and proposal presentations. Ensure all designs and estimates comply with AS/NZS standards and relevant regulations. Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to gather pricing, validate assumptions and finalize quotes. Support process improvements within the estimating and tender workflow to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Assist the management team in identifying potential cost savings and technical alternatives during tender evaluations. Maintain and update an organised database of estimates, supplier pricing and project history. Job Requirements Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as an Electrical Estimator in the solar, renewable energy or electrical contracting sectors. Strong experience using OpenSolar for design and proposal generation (preferred). Proficiency in Excel for cost estimation, tender analysis and report preparation. Familiarity with SimPRO or other estimating/project management tools is an advantage. Thorough understanding of Australian and New Zealand electrical codes and standards. Demonstrated ability to prepare competitive, accurate and timely tenders. Excellent communication skills, able to present cost breakdowns and design rationale to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy under pressure. Adaptable, flexible and dependable in handling tasks beyond normal scope. Self‑motivated, disciplined and able to manage tasks independently in a remote environment.
