Overview

AECOM Taguig, National Capital Region, Philippines is seeking an Estimator with experience in MEP systems for projects in building or infrastructure. The role focuses on preparing and managing cost estimates, supporting procurement, and ensuring alignment between design, engineering, and construction teams. • Provides estimates for MEP systems for each project phase: conceptual, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates using industry methods (e.g., RS Means) in UNIFORMAT II and CSI formats, and other client-specific formats. Focus areas may include architecture, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil, and structural disciplines.
• Prepare or assist in order-of-magnitude, preliminary, definitive, and change order estimates using appropriate methods and techniques.
• Perform cost comparison analyses between in-house estimates and contractor estimates.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and other disciplines to evaluate budget adequacy.
• Utilize company and industry historical data for cost estimates.
• Prepare project and discipline estimate summaries (Basis of Estimate).
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs on design and construction documents using software such as BlueBeam CAD or Xtreme, CostX, On-Screen Take-off, etc.
• Provide technical assistance and advice in negotiating contracts and pricing change orders.
• Establish and maintain cost databases and parametric analysis tools.
• Lead the estimate reconciliation process with the project team.
• Prepare bid packages, conceptual estimates, and analysis of subcontractor bids for projects.
• Support procurement of MEP subcontractors and suppliers; evaluate tender submissions and assist in contract negotiations.
• Administer MEP contracts, including variations, claims, and interim payments; monitor and report on contract compliance and performance.
• Track project costs and cash flow forecasts for MEP works; prepare monthly cost reports and value engineering proposals; evaluate and negotiate change orders and variations.
• Maintain change logs and ensure timely resolution of commercial issues; work with design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure alignment on MEP scope and cost.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors on commercial matters.

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in quantity surveying with a focus on MEP systems.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems in building or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with standard contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT).
• Proficient in cost management software (e.g., CostX, Uniphi, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Professional membership (e.g., PICQS, RICS, or equivalent).
• Experience working on international projects or with multinational teams.
• Knowledge of BIM and digital take-off tools.
