Role: Network Security Engineer. Location: Taguig, PH. Duration: Permanent. Posted today.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain the bank's security infrastructure and network security solutions.
  • Support enterprise security projects, enforce best practices, and work across teams to ensure systems and networks are secure.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in security domains and contribute to continuous improvement of the bank's security posture.
  • Develop and maintain detailed security designs and implementation plans; assist in defining configuration standards, testing, and deployment of security solutions.
  • Lead small-scale security projects; evaluate security tools and monitor their implementation.
  • Develop, review, and maintain IT security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines; ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Provide security risk assessments for architecture designs and security controls; identify gaps and recommend enhancements.
  • Define and document standard configurations for firewalls, VPNs, routers, IDS/IPS, and other security devices; monitor performance and resolve issues.
  • Conduct regular security configuration reviews and ensure efficacy and appropriate use of controls.
  • Monitor security devices/systems and assist IT administrators in timely issue resolution; coordinate with vendors as needed.
  • Review installation and changes to security infrastructure and assess impacts on security posture and operations.
  • Establish disaster recovery strategies for security tools and ensure regular testing.
  • Stay up to date with latest security technologies, trends, vulnerabilities, and threats; support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining security systems.
  • Certifications: SANS GIAC, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical skills: Strong understanding of LAN/WAN networks, operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix), cryptographic methods, cloud technologies, and security tools; experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM; scripting/automation skills a plus.
  • Soft skills: Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving abilities; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in a team; good project management and organizational skills.
  • Other: Knowledge of security best practices and emerging threats; willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and 24/7 shift as required.
