Job Description

We are looking for a Network Security Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain the bank's security infrastructure. In this role, you will support enterprise security projects, enforce best practices, and work across teams to ensure systems and networks are secure. You will also serve as a subject matter expert in specific security domains and contribute to the continuous improvement of the bank's overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Design & Implementation: Develop and maintain detailed security designs and implementation plans. Support the Security Architect in large-scale projects by helping define configuration standards, testing, and implementing security solutions. Lead small-scale security projects and evaluate tools to enhance security operations.
  • Policy, Standards & Compliance: Develop, review, and maintain IT security policies, procedures, technical standards, and guidelines. Ensure alignment with best practices and compliance requirements across all systems and third-party services. Assist in implementing baseline security standards for legacy and new systems.
  • Risk Assessment & Advisory: Provide security risk assessments for architecture designs and security controls. Identify security gaps and recommend enhancements to strengthen the bank's infrastructure. Advise teams like CPSD and SQRD on secure system design and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Security Tools & Infrastructure: Maintain and optimize the bank's security tools to ensure effective prevention, detection, and response to threats. Define and document standard configurations for firewalls, VPNs, routers, IDS/IPS, and other security devices. Monitor the performance of these systems and work with IT administrators to resolve issues.
  • Monitoring & Response: Conduct regular security configuration reviews to maintain optimal performance. Monitor network and system activities to identify and resolve security incidents. Test and implement disaster recovery strategies for security infrastructure.
  • Vendor & Project Management: Evaluate vendor performance and participate in vendor risk assessment (VPRC) processes. Prepare business cases for new security tools and solutions. Manage and report on assigned security initiatives, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging security threats, technologies, and vulnerabilities. Contribute to ongoing improvements in the bank's information security strategy. Support governance, risk, and compliance tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining security systems.
  • Certifications: Preferred certifications include SANS GIAC, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of LAN/WAN networks, encryption methods, operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix), cloud/wireless technologies, and security tools. Scripting or programming skills are a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Mindset: Proactive, results-driven, and committed to reducing security risks. Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to the evolving threat landscape.
