Job OverviewTE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding, or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes operate at optimal levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, with extensive knowledge of associated manufacturing processes. Their responsibilities include the optimization and standardization of stamping, molding, assembly, or other processes within the manufacturing environment.
Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable TE business unit plants to meet TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, implement Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDPs), and advise plants on tool and machine improvements. They design and develop manufacturing processes and automation platforms for new product development and optimization of existing products. They also support product development in selecting and optimizing tools for production, considering manufacturing quantities, quality, and location. Additionally, they act as an interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth ramp-up, supporting R&D teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, prototypes, and samples.
Job Responsibilities- Be flexible to work in any production area assigned by the supervisor.
- Own troubleshooting and quality assurance related to your process.
- Work flexibly in any shift.
- Reduce machine breakdowns.
- Support the production team to achieve targets.
- Improve cycle time by optimizing line processes.
- Implement Poka Yoke or mistake-proofing techniques.
- Participate in Kaizen activities.
- Carry out corrective and preventive actions.
- Troubleshoot defects and correct machine issues.
- Set up and change over machines for different part numbers.
- Read drawings and understand quality requirements.
- Understand the end product use and safety requirements.
- Trigger critical spares management.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on process improvements.
- Be aware of quality targets.
- Maintain 5S+1 and TPM standards.
- High School diploma or Associate Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD / Creo 3D modeling.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
