Spring Forward is seeking a seasoned Speech and Language Pathologist for a dynamic consulting role, transitioning from traditional therapy to a Speech and Language Consultant position.

Spring Forward is a holistic early development centre focused on supporting and empowering children and families through early childhood. In Australia, 1 in 5 children commence kindergarten developmentally vulnerable and 1 in 10 parents lack confidence in their skills as their child’s first teacher. Spring Forward has assembled a team of professionals across allied health and education who collaborate to provide play‑based early development services and comprehensive parent education and support.
The opportunity
As a Speech and Language Consultant, you will bring your extensive knowledge to advise clients on best practices for speech and language development. You will collaborate with educators, professionals and parents to design and implement customised early development plans that support kids and families to Thrive. Your role includes strategic planning, training and program development, contributing to a holistic approach to language and communication services. This role does not require current registration; it is suitable for professionals with substantial knowledge and experience who may have let their registration lapse for various reasons.
Responsibilities- Complete new client telehealth interviews and create assessment plans tailored to their needs (online, onsite, multiple departments).
- Assess, screen, and prevent language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
- Oversee and generate intervention plans for clients to complete at home, school or in the centre with therapy assistants.
- Funnel clients into groups and parent education seminars.
- Case manage clients ensuring a clear MDT 6‑month early intervention plan is developed in collaboration with other consultants.
- Gain client commitment, schedule all appointments, and convert intakes into services.
- Run webinars and seminars online as required.
- Supervise and educate junior team members.
- Run telehealth parent consultations and appointments with clients.
- Complete all client reports (home programs, progress reports, and assessment reports).
- Ensure high quality, evidence‑based and ethical care for all clients.
- Assess, set goals, plan, write reports and implement personalised intervention plans for clients.
- Develop goals and plans with the multidisciplinary team.
- Manage weekly schedule to achieve KPI targets.
- Develop plans for therapy assistants and comprehensive home programs for clients.
- Deliver individualised and/or group parent education.
- Contribute Speech Pathology expertise to the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide in‑services to the team and approved community partners on relevant topics.
- Administer a range of clinical assessments (standardised and non‑standardised).
- Promote early development and parent support/education services at Spring Forward.
- Engage in weekly MDT supervision and professional development.
- Contribute to content creation and engagement across social platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology – you do not need to be registered.
- Master's degree in Speech Therapy or Speech‑Language Pathology – you do not need to be registered.
- Experience with certain disorders and age groups may be required.
- Sound understanding of speech‑related disorders and treatments.
- Good written and oral English.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications relevant to work functions.
- Stable internet connection, device with HD camera and noise‑cancelling headset.
- Active collaboration and proactive contribution to the team; teamwork is a core value.
