BIM Coordinator

Position Overview: The BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing, coordinating, and maintaining Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes and outputs for the project. This role involves reviewing consultant BIM/Revit 3D models, overseeing structural and services modelling, conducting clash detection, and managing information exchange between consultants, subcontractors, and the project team. The BIM Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring that the project's BIM deliverables are accurate, coordinated, and completed in line with project timelines and standards. Key Responsibilities: Model Review & Coordination Review, verify, and update consultant BIM/Revit 3D models to establish a platform for subcontractor modelling and drafting. Undertake clash detection and coordinate resolution of design conflicts using consultant models. Conduct detailed design reviews to identify missing scope, discrepancies, and design issues. Issue, track, and close out all Requests for Information (RFIs) related to design discrepancies, clashes, or missing scope. Structural & Services Modelling Oversight Oversee structural modelling and drafting processes through to the completion and approval of drawings and the issue of For Construction (FC) drawings. Oversee services (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire, solar, audio visual, communications) modelling and drafting through to approval and FC issue. Manage and resolve RFIs arising during structural and services modelling. Provide detailed handovers of structural and services packages to the on-site project coordinator upon completion. Project Coordination & Communication Report directly to the Project Manager and adhere to all project drafting deadlines. Attend regular Project Team Meetings, Subcontractor Meetings, and Drafting Meetings via MS Teams. Maintain consistent communication with on-site project team members to update them on drafting progress and modelling issues. Support project leaders in understanding project programs, deliverable expectations, and timeframes for specific design packages. Project check & status using 360 cupix modelling or similar platforms. BIM Management & Standards Collaborate with project teams to ensure BIM directives are clearly communicated, understood, and followed across disciplines. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of project BIM standards, workflows, and protocols. Manage and maintain BIM systems, shared libraries, and model coordination platforms. Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting training and upskilling initiatives related to BIM processes and software use. Undertake automated BIM audits & reporting. Qualifications & Experience: Degree or diploma in Building Design, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in BIM coordination within the construction or engineering industry. Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM coordination software. Demonstrated experience in clash detection, RFI management, and multidisciplinary coordination. Familiarity with project workflows, design documentation standards, and model coordination protocols. Skills & Attributes: Strong technical understanding of structural and building services systems. Excellent communication and coordination skills. High attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Ability to work independently in an off-site environment while maintaining close collaboration with the project team.
