PERMANENT DAYSHIFT, WFH REMOTE ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT Company type: electrical contracting business Tasks: accounting Full time: 40 hours Work schedule: Dayshift, 9-5 AEST Target start date: ASAP VA rate: $8-9 AUD JOB DESCRIPTION : Accounting Assistant The position is for a professional in charge of maintaining budgets and records. They also prepare invoices on behalf of clients or employers. Those in this role will be helping with day-to-day tasks related directly to their field, which means that precision is essential. They also support by performing clerical tasks, including processing and recording transactions, preparing reports and budgets, fielding communications with clients and vendors, fact-checking, filing, and other duties, as needed. Job Expectation and Qualifications Work experience as an Accounting Assistant Familiarity with finance regulations in Australia Hands-on experience with MS Excel and Xero accounting software Other soft skills Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors Organization skills Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information Duties and Responsibilities Basic data entry tasks for accounting assistants include logging transactions, recording and reviewing journal entries, creating invoices, and crafting spreadsheets. Bookkeeping, tax return preparation, bank reconciliations, etc. Preparing quarterly reports, assisting year-end audits and bank reconciliations. Communicate with vendors and customers about invoices and payments. This could be by email or phone. Create and update financial reports. They work on balance sheets, statements of income, statements of retained earnings, and cash flow statements. Reconciling invoices and identifying discrepancies Creating and updating expense reports Help with processing payroll and employee expenses. Processing reimbursement forms Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Requirements Familiarity with Australian building codes and regulations Proven record of tendering commercial projects up to $10M. Proficient skills in Bluebeam and Intellibid or similar tools; Client confirmed they can provide training on Intellibid. Tender experience in retail, fit-out, refurbishment, live environment, hospitality, aged care, education, and small new-build projects. Skilled in job estimating in a construction environment. Good understanding of various construction methods and knowledge of building, material components, building regulations, estimating (including take-offs), and WHS&E. Knowledge of contractual procedures and responsibilities. Highly numerate with a well-developed ability to accurately manipulate numerical information. Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or within a team. Time management, accurate record-keeping, and attention to detail. Ability and willingness to learn and develop new skills.
