Job DescriptionThe Assistant QA Manager ensures that all equipment and methods used for testing and analysis of raw materials and finished products are established and maintained to provide results in time with high accuracy and precision. The role initiates and leads continuous improvement projects within the department and across other teams when necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor equipment installations and ensure proper activities are carried out.
- Establish and maintain an equipment preventive maintenance program.
- Communicate with equipment suppliers and external technicians for repair and maintenance.
- Establish design controls and compensating provisions.
- Establish and maintain an equipment calibration program.
- Perform internal calibration of QA equipment and coordinate with suppliers for scheduled calibrations.
- Conduct orientation for QA personnel on proper equipment handling and operation.
- Develop test methods for quality evaluation of raw materials and finished products.
- Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects within the department and other areas.
- Mentor other QA personnel in developing technical competencies.
- Licensed Chemist with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Experience in equipment calibration and sensory analysis.
- Training in equipment calibration, ISO 17025, measurement uncertainties, SPC, and Gauge R&R.
- Proven ability to lead and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Results-driven with a proactive mindset in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
