Key responsibilities include translating documents, assisting in meetings through consecutive or simultaneous interpretation, researching specialized terminology, and using translation tools, all while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring clear communication for various industries. Key Responsibilities Translation: Convert written materials, such as reports, articles, or multimedia, from Mandarin to English or another target language, and vice-versa. Interpretation: Provide simultaneous or consecutive interpretation during meetings, conferences, or other events to facilitate real-time verbal communication. Accuracy & Clarity: Ensure that translations are accurate, clear, grammatically correct, and comprehensible to native speakers of the target language. Cultural Nuance: Maintain cultural relevance and ensure that core ideas and information from the original text are retained; research and understand industry-specific terminology to ensure precision of technical translations. Proofreading: Review and edit translations to identify and fix language issues, ensuring a high-quality final product; coordinate with other translators or editors as needed. Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information and discussions with professionalism and maintain confidentiality. Required Skills & Qualifications Language Proficiency: Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) and strong command of the target language (often English and/or Filipino). Cultural Understanding: Deep knowledge of Mandarin and its cultural context to ensure nuanced translations. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to convey information between parties. Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in translating and proofreading for accuracy and quality.
