Overview The Audit Staff II (Semi-Senior) primarily supports the Audit Manager in all phases of ongoing projects and engagements. Responsibilities Provide input to and work closely with the Audit Manager in planning and scheduling work on engagements, including preparing estimated time budgets and staffing requirements together with the Engagement Managers. Prepare for discussions with the Audit Manager on the impact of current accounting and auditing standards for annual periods and update IFRS checklists for each audit cycle. Prepare samples of transactions to be vouched and traced for each cycle. Provide guidance to associates on audit schedules to be prepared and audit tests to be performed. Prepare and update checklists for audit request letters sent prior to commencement of the audit and for confirmations received thereafter. Verify information and data in audit confirmations to work papers and inform the Audit Senior of any discrepancies, issues, or observations from field work. Assist in preparing analytical reviews from trial balance and client information to discuss significant variances and design suitable audit procedures. Build and maintain effective working relationships with client personnel and meet client and firm deadlines. Qualifications Certified Public Accountant At least two years of experience as an auditor in a public accounting firm, with progression in complexity of auditing and accounting tasks Preferred Qualifications Proven ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues Strong organization and follow-up skills Ability to identify, report, and handle sensitive issues Reliability Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Ability to give and follow instructions accurately and efficiently Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other spreadsheet programs Senioriy level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries Accounting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at P&A Grant Thornton. #J-18808-Ljbffr
