Mainframe Developer

POSITION TITLE: Senior to Lead - Mainframe Developer.WORK LOCATION: ORTIGAS, PASIG CITY.SHIFT SCHEDULE: MORNING SHIFT.WORK SETUP: RTO IN ORTIGAS, PASIG CITY. Senior to Lead - Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM to join our Payment Systems team. The role focuses on both application development and Level 3 (L3) production support, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance of mission-critical payment applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, coding, testing, and troubleshooting mainframe applications, with a deep understanding of payment processing workflows. Key Responsibilities: Application Development: Design, code, test, and implement new features and enhancements for payment systems. Develop and maintain COBOL programs, CICS transactions, JCL scripts, DB2 queries, and VSAM datasets. Participate in system design sessions, technical reviews, and provide recommendations for process improvements. Ensure compliance with coding standards, documentation, and security best practices. L3 Production Support: Provide Level 3 support for critical payment applications, resolving complex production incidents and defects. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes to ensure system stability. Support system performance tuning, optimization, and monitoring activities. Collaborate with infrastructure, middleware, and database teams to address cross-functional issues. Create and maintain knowledge base articles for recurring issues and solutions. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Support release management, deployment, and change control processes. Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation for production issues (as required). Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in: COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM Mainframe debugging and performance tuning tools. Solid understanding of payment processing systems is preferred. Experience in incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis within ITIL framework. Ability to read, analyze, and troubleshoot complex batch jobs and online transactions.
