Senior Legal Counsel Alibaba Group is seeking an experienced senior legal counsel to lead the legal function in the Philippines, and to serve as the key adviser to management in respect of strategic projects and business activities in the Philippines. Key Responsibilities Be a pragmatic and forward‑looking adviser to senior management: Able to anticipate and develop response framework in respect of regulatory developments impacting Alibaba’s businesses in the Philippines (including e-commerce, cloud services, and logistics). Strategic risk management: Lead response to regulatory investigations and litigation, coordinating with other relevant functions such as International Government Relations and Public Relations. Team management: Build and lead a high‑performing team in the Philippines to manage the legal work with the adoption of technology and AI‑enabled solutions, focusing on bringing practical and balanced solutions to the business. Execution of projects and business initiatives: Drive the drafting, review and execution of projects and business initiatives, such as new product launches and corporate transactions. Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 8 years of experience working in an in‑house setting. Minimum of 5 years of team management experience. Qualified attorney in the Philippines. Strong business acumen and risk judgment. Able to roll up your sleeves and work alongside a lean team. Expertise in TMT industry is preferred.
