What You’ll Do?

Your Role as Technical Lead

As our Bridge Engineer, you’ll serve as the critical link between Japanese and Filipino development teams. Your role spans project management, language translation, and software engineering, making sure everyone is aligned, from requirement gathering to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the primary liaison between Japanese clients/stakeholders and Filipino developers.
• Translate technical requirements and business goals accurately between Japanese and English.
• Collaborate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirement gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-support.
• Communicate Japanese development guidelines clearly and effectively to the Philippine team.
• Lead and support requirements definition, basic design, and detailed technical design.
• Participate in code reviews, evaluate pull requests, and maintain coding standards.
• Review system designs, write clean code, and contribute to hands-on development when needed.
• Monitor progress, ensure timely reporting, and manage project risks and timelines.
• Facilitate bilingual meetings and coordinate seamless collaboration across cultures.
• Nurture the growth of our Philippine development team while ensuring deliverables exceed expectations.

What You Need to Bring

Job Specifications

• 3–5 years of professional experience in coding (web, mobile, or systems).
• Proficient in Japanese – JLPT N2 or higher.
• Strong English communication skills, with business-level fluency and professional experience.
• Proven experience in team-based or multinational IT projects, preferably as a Software Developer or Tech Lead
• Ability to understand source code and technical architecture to drive alignment.
• Exceptional time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid role blending software engineering and project coordination.
• Must be based in Cebu City (or willing to relocate) and able to report onsite 3x a week at Cebu IT Park.
• Flexibility to work in Philippine time zones and travel to Japan if necessary.
• Filipinos proficient in Japanese Language and Japanese nationals are highly encouraged to apply.

‘Nice-to-Haves’

• JLPT N1 certification.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum project management.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, Slack).
• Experience working in a Japanese company or with Japanese clients.
• Exposure to strict Japanese-style code reviews.
• A growth mindset, humble, curious, and eager to learn from others.
• Experience using GoLang but not a requirement
• Deep respect and understanding of Japanese work culture and communication style.
