The Role We’re seeking a Full Stack Software Developer with strong Ruby on Rails experience to join our growing engineering team. This role is designed for a professional who is passionate about building clean, secure, andable code, and who enjoys working with modern technologies to improve existing systems and develop new ones. You’ll play a key role in enhancing and modernizing existing applications while building new services and user interfaces using Rails, React/TypeScript, and Python. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver measurable results in a scalable, secure, and efficient environment. Location: Must be in Colombia – Remote. Environment: Colombian and International Teams. Language: Advanced English (B2+ - C1). Timezone: Monday to Friday – (CST). Contract: Non-fixed Term Colombian Contract. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience 5+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years building production systems with Ruby on Rails Experience working with full stack applications using React + TypeScript and Python Proven experience deploying and maintaining containerized services in AWS and/or Azure Skills Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails (7+): models, services, controllers, background jobs (Sidekiq/ActiveJob), and REST/GraphQL APIs Experience developing front-end interfaces with React + TypeScript (and optionally Hotwire/Stimulus) Strong PostgreSQL knowledge — schema design, indexing, query optimization, and migrations Experience integrating third‑party APIs and webhooks with resilience (idempotency, retries, pagination, signature verification) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Bitbucket Pipelines) Experience deploying and operating containerized workloads in AWS and/or Azure (IAM, networking, storage, logging, metrics) Understanding of security best practices (authentication, authorization, secrets management, dependency hygiene) Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative and ego‑free mindset Characteristics Analytical thinker with strong problem‑solving skills Detail‑oriented and committed to writing secure, high‑quality, maintainable code Proactive and adaptable to both brownfield and greenfield development environments Capable of mentoring peers and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives Self‑directed, with the ability to work independently and deliver results Responsibilities Build and maintain Ruby on Rails applications, including services, APIs, and background jobs. Develop and optimize front‑end interfaces using React + TypeScript or Hotwire/Stimulus. Refactor existing codebases for performance and maintainability, ensuring measurable improvements. Design and manage database schemas and queries in PostgreSQL for scalability and efficiency. Integrate and manage third‑party APIs and webhooks with robust error handling and retry logic. Maintain automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to ensure code quality and stability. Monitor system health and performance and participate in incident response when needed. Apply and maintain security best practices across all services. Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high‑impact, reliable software solutions. Leverage AI tools productively to accelerate development tasks with strong human validation. Nice To Have Experience with Hotwire/Stimulus and Tailwind CSS Familiarity with background job scaling, multi‑tenant architectures, Pundit/CanCan, SSO/OIDC/SAML, or SCIM Experience with GraphQL, schema‑first APIs (OpenAPI), or contract testing (Pact) Knowledge of search/indexing tools (Postgres FTS, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch) Experience with Kubernetes/Helm, Terraform, or GitOps workflows Understanding of OpenTelemetry/APM and performance testing (k6, Locust) Awareness of OWASP/ASVS and secure data handling Familiarity with data and analytics tools (pandas, Polars, dbt concepts, dimensional modeling) Bonus: experience in JVM ecosystems (Java/Kotlin), Apache Spark, Kafka, or MongoDB for integrations and interoperability #J-18808-Ljbffr
