Accounting & Advisory Services - Senior Associate SGV & Co. Makati, National Capital Region, Philippines Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) covers a wide range of accounting and reporting, transaction accounting, treasury, and corporate governance services that allow businesses to meet changing market conditions, demands for greater transparency and changing regulatory requirements. Primary Responsibilities Execute procedures for various FAAS services and solutions. Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing engagement executives of engagement status and following through on client requests in a timely fashion to manage expectations regarding the timing of deliverables and reports. Identify engagement and client service issues; research and benchmark client data to industry data in order to formulate insights, observations and recommendations. Execute tasks directed by the Manager, Senior Manager and Partner and explain the client's critical success factors to the engagement team. Mentor and oversee day‑to‑day activities of associate team members. Apply independent and objective professional judgment in applying accounting standards to meet engagement expectations, including regulatory requirements. Demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts; stay informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., guidelines of the EY FAAS Policy Manual); and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situations. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field (e.g., Internal Audit, Management Accounting and Financial Management). Holding a Certified Public Accountant license, or any related licenses (i.e., CMA, CIA, CFA), is required. Minimum 3 years (post‑qualification) relevant experience including at least one year of experience in any of the following fields: Financial accounting and reporting, Valuation of derivatives and other financial instruments, Hedge accounting, Treasury, Data analytics, Insurance accounting (IFRS 17 knowledge and experience). Has good understanding of IFRS and US GAAP. Working experience in relation to any of the following services/solutions: GAAP conversions and implementation of new accounting standards, drafting and designing accounting policies, technical accounting research and advice. Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and technical writing skills. Relevant experience in researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies. Advanced knowledge in Microsoft 365 Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite and the like is desired, but not required. Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary.
