Tax Accountant

Overview Our client, a Florida CPA firm, is seeking a highly adaptable and detail-oriented Tax Accountant with 3 to 5 years of US accounting experience to join their remote team. This role is designed for a utility player who will contribute across both tax preparation and bookkeeping functions. You will play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting tax compliance, and ensuring smooth accounting operations for their clients. You should possess strong analytical skills, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and be experienced in working with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online and ProConnect Tax Online (or similar tax software). Responsibilities Perform bookkeeping and general accounting tasks: record, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions in QuickBooks Online across multiple accounts and clients; maintain accurate general ledger balances; process journal entries; manage closing procedures; perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations for bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts; support accounts payable and receivable functions with timely invoicing and payment processing; assist in the preparation of internal financial reports (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow). Assist with tax preparation and compliance: assist with preparation of U.S. federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations using ProConnect Tax Online or equivalent software; gather, organize, and review client tax documentation; maintain knowledge of U.S. tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate reporting and timely filing; help with filing extensions, estimated payments, and other tax compliance tasks. Client support and communication: work collaboratively with clients and internal stakeholders to gather financial data and clarify discrepancies; provide responsive support to client inquiries regarding financial records, tax obligations, and general accounting questions; maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and data integrity in all communications and documentation. Process improvements and software management: identify opportunities to streamline accounting and tax processes using cloud-based tools and automation; maintain and update client records using accounting platforms and ensure data security best practices; stay current on best practices and changes in US accounting and tax regulations to ensure continued compliance and efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 3 to 5 years of hands-on US accounting experience Experience as a tax professional is required Exposure to both US tax and bookkeeping functions (with more emphasis on tax) Strong understanding of GAAP and US tax compliance requirements Experience in reconciling complex financial data and preparing general ledger reports Prior experience working with US-based clients in a multi-client accounting environment is preferred QuickBooks Online experience is strongly preferred ProConnect proficiency is strongly preferred; experience using similar tax preparation software (such as Lacerte or Drake) for US business and personal tax returns may be considered Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fully remote, deadline-driven environment Details WORK SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (9:00 PM – 6:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays POSITION TYPE: Full Time WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote Get notified about new Tax Accountant jobs in Philippines. #J-18808-Ljbffr
