In this position, you will join our Buildings team as Mechanical Design Engineer, focusing on mechanical design for data centers within the broader building services context. You will be an integral part of a team of highly skilled specialists that bring ideas to life for our clients across various projects. Here are the key things you will do to bring ideas to life:

• Lead and execute detailed mechanical design for data center projects, focusing on HVAC, cooling, and related building services systems, ensuring designs meet client requirements and compliance standards.
• Develop and analyze mechanical designs to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, particularly those specific to data centers.
• Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary project teams including engineers and designers to deliver high-quality design outcomes.
• Prepare technical specifications, reports, and design documentation supporting project delivery.
• Support troubleshooting and design reviews throughout project phases to maintain design integrity and project success.
• Engage with clients to understand their mechanical design needs and contribute technical input in design discussions.
• Assist in project scheduling and coordination under guidance of project managers to meet deadlines and budget expectations.
• Utilize BIM tools such as Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, and BIM360 for design development, model coordination, and issue resolution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by staying current with innovative, energy-efficient, and sustainable mechanical design practices.
• Support the mentoring and development of junior mechanical engineers in design best practices and project workflows.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 10+ years of professional experience in building services mechanical design, preferably with data center experience and within a consulting environment.
• Strong technical skills in mechanical systems design, with a solid understanding of HVAC and cooling solutions used in data centers.
• Proactive, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, BIM360) and digital design tools to navigate and coordinate multidisciplinary models.
• Interest in innovative, energy-efficient, and sustainable design solutions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and contribute effectively under supervision in a fast-paced environment.
