Overview

Our client is a global provider of intelligent mobile Internet solutions that enable operators to improve quality, reduce network operational expenses and manage and monetize the mobile Internet. They are looking for a Presales Engineer. This is a remote role with regular travel in the region.

Required qualifications
  • 5 years of experience in a Presales position in the Telecom industry
  • Proven experience leading RFPs
  • Experience working for a software product company
  • Telecom network background is a must (e.g., Ericsson, Allot, Cisco, Radware, etc.)
  • Mobile data & IP knowledge and deep telecommunications knowledge
  • Familiarity with the mobile market
  • Operational skills in Linux, scripting for PoC
  • Overall understanding of DevOps and related tools
  • High skills and knowledge in virtualization, NFV, SDN, and containerization
  • BS in a technical field

  • Fluent in written and spoken English; additional languages (Spanish) – desirable but not required

Primary responsibilities

The Presales Engineer leads the technical sales aspects and, as part of the sales organization, contributes to sales target achievement, account management, market penetration, and new customer acquisition. They lead PoCs and may execute them.

Presales Engineers own the entire technical aspects of accounts, from product presentation to upsell of new features and new technologies. They are responsible for technical solution descriptions, technical proposals, scope of work, and change requests, which include collecting prerequisites from the customer and presenting them to the Product team.

They are responsible for technical RFx responses, leading the RFx process with R&D, Product, Operations, and the Account Manager for professional and complete submissions. They collaborate with Product and R&D to prepare product presentations for customers.

The ideal candidate is a self-learning, motivated team player who strives for success and is target oriented.

Detailed responsibilities
  • Technically support the sales process — initiatives, upsells, and new opportunities
  • Product introduction, demonstration, and presentation — Prepare, Present and Demonstrate
  • Solution engineering — understand customer needs and create upsells and new opportunities; translate requirements into solutions
  • RFx overall responsibility — provide full RFX response, write solution sections, ensure coherence with customer needs, defend the response; coordinate with R&D and Product and with customers
  • Provide detailed specifications and SOW for customer requests and new requirements
  • Sales management of trials and PoCs — define scope, requirements, success criteria, timelines, milestones; coordinate with HQ for delivery resources
  • Effectively communicate with customers and internal/external stakeholders; act as a trusted advisor
  • Attend marketing events, trade shows, and relevant conferences as required
  • Continuously gather information about customer requirements and competitive landscape to enable new opportunities
