About this role As an Accountant, you will be crucial in delivering high-quality accounting services to our clients. You will be responsible for assisting with managing our portfolio of clients, preparing financial statements, and completing tax compliance work for a range of entities. Duties and Responsibilities Assist in preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS and FBT returns Prepare general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers Process bank transactions and reconciliations using accounting software Assist with preparation of income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies Support in drafting financial statements and working papers for review Reconcile ATO accounts with client records and assist with ATO correspondence Prepare draft queries for client review and approval Provide support in SMSF compliance and reporting Collaborate with senior accountants to finalise financial statements and tax compliance About you Minimum 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience Minimum 18 months' experience working in Australian public practice Strong experience with Xero (essential) Experience preparing and processing BAS directly from Xero Ability to prepare financial statements to trial balance stage for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders in Xero Xero Payroll experience highly regarded but not essential Familiarity with Class Super preferred but not essential Exposure to Business Fitness Active Workpapers desirable but not required Proficient Excel skills (7/10 or higher Outstanding verbal communication skills Strong written communication skills Prior Australian accounting experience (minimum 1-2 years) preferred What's in it for you A competitive salary Health Insurance, and Life Insurance coverage 21 annual paid leaves Annual increase (Annual Performance Review) Tenure Recognition ProgramAccess to certifications and courses from Ab2 Institute of Accounting 20+ options of free coffee and chocolate drinks Billiards, table tennis, or foosball in our breakout room Work-life balance and logging off on time for you to enjoy more personal time.
