Your Role As a Developer Advocate , you will champion our API documentation and serve as the bridge between our product and the developers who use it. Your mission is to empower our customers by creating a world-class developer experience, providing developers with powerful on-demand learning resources, and delivering a delightful build experience with Reap products. This role is ideal for a builder who loves to write and teach, and it offers a stepping stone toward becoming a Product Engineer or Pre‑Sales Engineer. What You’ll Do Own the developer journey and ensure a world‑class experience by creating robust onboarding guides, comprehensive documentation, and a rich library of learning assets. Write engaging “how‑to” guides, tutorials, and conceptual articles that help developers solve real‑world problems with our API. Develop code samples and demos, using your scripting and API development skills to create practical code samples and interactive demo assets. Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to stay ahead of new features and maintain technically accurate documentation. Act as the first and most important user of our API, providing critical feedback to product and engineering teams during the development cycle. Manage a backlog of documentation and API change requests from customers and internal teams, prioritizing tasks, planning content updates, and communicating timelines. What We’re Looking For Hands‑on API experience and proficiency with tools like Postman, curl, or scripting to make API requests. Scripting proficiency in at least one language (e.g., JavaScript/Node.js, Python). Exceptional writing skills, able to explain complex technical topics simply and concisely. Developer empathy, able to anticipate developer questions and understand frustrations. Organizational skills and proficiency with project management and collaboration software. Ability to navigate ambiguity and work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment. Self‑starter attitude, proactive and able to manage projects from start to finish.
