The Senior Direct Copywriter is responsible for driving data-backed strategies, uncovering market opportunities, and translating insights into high-performing campaigns. This role involves developing ad concepts, writing persuasive full-funnel copy, and continuously testing and iterating to maximize conversions. The strategist researches products, competitors, and customer personas to craft winning offers, hooks, and messaging. They collaborate closely with media buyers and creatives to ensure execution aligns with vision and performance goals. Additionally, they mentor junior team members, manage the creative pipeline, and uphold high standards for all marketing outputs.

Responsibilities
  • Tear apart products, market segments, and competitors to understand them deeply and identify how they can be positioned and messaged effectively.
  • Conduct continuous research on product core benefits, features, mechanisms, and potential offers to test.
  • Understand different personas/avatars and what messaging works for them.
  • Identify direct and indirect competitors and develop differentiating strategies.
  • Deliver easy-to-digest insights and data to the marketing team for rapid execution.
  • Find and develop winning angles, hooks, and offers that can dominate the market.
  • Study data daily, analyze ad performance, and translate findings into actionable insights to lead iterative ads.
  • Architect complete ad concepts (video and image) from research to brainstorming to execution.
  • Write 60+ minutes of high-converting scripts weekly (VSLs, UGCs, story ads, and other formats).
  • Generate 10+ new image concepts weekly.
  • Build and test multiple variations and iterations of winning ads based on successful angles and styles.
  • Write persuasive copy for the full funnel, including advertorials, sales pages, and landing pages that convert cold traffic into buyers.
  • Produce at least 1 full landing page per month designed to beat control metrics.
  • Develop and test new offer ideas (bundles, price points, bonuses) to lift AOV and conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with the senior creative strategist and media buyers to guide the creative team (editors, designers) so execution matches the vision and branding.
  • Maintain high standards for messaging, creative integrity, and performance-driven results.
Qualifications
  • Proven $1M+ Track Record: Your copy has generated at least $1,000,000 USD for a single ecom brand/client.
  • Direct Response Mastery: Deep understanding of sales psychology, copywriting frameworks, and funnel architecture.
  • Data-Obsessed: You live for the numbers and use KPIs, CTR, and ROAS as a roadmap to scaling.
  • Thrives Under Pressure: You excel in a fast-paced environment where speed and results are paramount.
  • An Owner's Mentality: You treat company resources as if they were your own and take radical ownership of results; you are a problem-solver, not just a task-doer.
